some doctor who cyanotypes I made for my photography class that I just realized I never shared
#I don't actually know if anyone else will find these as cool as I did#but my tablemate and my teacher thought these turned out super good looking#so I wondered maybe if I showed them to people who actually watch doctor who that y'all might like them as well#I mean I know they're dead messy but it was soo fun to do#if you've got the chance to make a cyanotype you totally should. fantastic medium#btw the first is titled “the doctor(s)” if ur curious lol#I'll be honest I'm not the biggest fan of the second one but it certainly got me some compliments so#I'm thinking it's an “I made this therefor I do not like it” and less of an “it's trash” issue#is this art? does this count as art?#I won't tag the fanart tag ig since idk but I'll use my own since I still technically made these with my own two hands#twelfth doctor#clara oswald#doctor who#my art: oil paint pawsteps 🐾#ohh. I also just realized I never shared my clara collage I made for this class either#I'm not going to show that one bc it IS trash but I think it's funny how clara is just my ultimate muse in all of my projects

Guys, our art teacher gave us clay! I honestly haven't had this much fun in a while lol
I mean, it was awesome! Why wouldn't you have fun sculpting? I don't think I'll do much of it because I don't know if the teacher will bring any again, and it was messy to work with so I fear the clean up if I ever bring any of my own but like, it was a good time!
I wanted to make a head first because that's usually what I draw, so why not, but then I gave up halfway through and decided to experiment. My first thought was skull, but the clay wouldn't smoothen, I couldn't make it nice and oval for the back skull, and I just gave up and decided to just do whatever.
That whatever became a figure that looked kinda like a suspicious man in a hood so I went ' aw yeah, cultist vibes, time to go ham ' and started carving out a deeper hood and gave them lil hands crossed in front. Then I decided the cultist needed a spooky eye in the hood.
Now, I know making a cultist a weird creature with a spooky eye and tentacles means they likely aren't a cultist anymore, so I solved the problem by making the cultist dead, and now their skull is chilling in whatever this is now. Are they happy with their life choices? I don't know, but they're just chilling there so maybe.
Anyway, here they are!
I'm told sculptures have to bake, so I'm mildly concerned about the tentacles breaking, and also whether or not it's a good thing I've seen videos of sculpting have some sort of support and decided to stick an old pencil in there as one and sculpted around it, then forgot to mention it to anyone. Probably not. I think I may have made a mistake, but I'll regret it later. I'm already regretting it now because I only realised I did that as I was writing this paragraph. I think I may have done an oopsie, but it's okay because at least now I won't do it again.
Soo yeah. First time sculpting, looks aesthetic, had fun, no idea if I'll do this again, but I now have even greater respect for sculptors than before! That's neat!
